The “index.htm” page is used by the web-server (where you post your website) as the open page for your website.
When you type “http://www.pvshowcase.com/john/” in your browser, the web-server actually opens up “http://www.pvshowcase.com/john/index.htm”
ProView names the opening page of your project “index.htm”. The opening page may be changed in the “Project Info” dialog under the file menu.
If you choose “None” as your opening page, ProView will not assign an “index.htm” page. This may be desirable if you wish your website accessed only by a direct reference (i.e. “http://www.pvshowcase.com/john/first_page.htm”).
NOTE: If you change any page names after the website is built the references to that page from the other pages created by ProView will no longer function.
